Tom Pennell

I helped Ken start Two Poor Teachers. I continued to teach, as Ken took over the company and made it into what it is today. I am currently in my 13th year of teaching in Fairfax County. Construction helped pay my college bills and I have not put my hammer down since. Because of the vast construction experience I have had over the years, as your project coordinator for Two Poor Teachers I am able to visualize and streamline home projects.

These guys were great! Jeff and Stu came out with the mobile showroom and I had everything picked out in an hour and a half. I had another estimate that was more money for less stuff. If you want to pick out your own tile you can but I was getting overwhelmed by the process so the showroom was a lifesaver!

The crew was great — A+. They arrived on time each day. They were polite, considerate and cleaned up at the end of each day. We have both hardwood and carpeted floors and all surfaces were covered with canvas drop cloths. The crew chief consulted us at several points during the installation, and suggested changes which improved the final product. He was extremely knowledgeable and has clearly been doing this for a long time. The crew did an excellent job and they did it in five days. The other contractors estimated the job would take 4-5 weeks, which was another reason why we choose TPT.
