How do I know if I have lead in my home?
Was your home built BEFORE 1978? If yes then Please visit http://www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/renovation.htm to find out more information.
Will lead abatement add to the cost of my job?
A typical lead abatement job costs between 15 to 25% more than if there is no lead present.
Can I as a homeowner save money by doing the demolition and disposal ourselves?
Lead particles can cause serious damage if the correct procedures are not followed. We ask that you visit the above website to determine if performing the demolition yourself would be advantageous.
What geographic areas does Two Poor Teachers serve?
Two Poor Teachers provides bathroom, kitchen and other remodeling services in the Northern Virginia area. We work in areas as far south as Dumfries as well as all of Fairfax, Alexandria, Reston, Springfield, Mclean, Centreville, Burke, Annandale, Falls Church etc.. We may work outside of our target area if the project warrants.
Does Two Poor Teachers provide free estimates?
Yes, we provide free, no obligation estimates. Two Poor Teachers will schedule one of our project managers to come to your home to review your bathroom, and/or kitchen, or other home remodeling project with you and provide an on-the-spot free estimate.
Does Two Poor Teachers help with the design of a home improvement project?
Yes. Two Poor Teachers does not use sales staff. Our project managers are experienced professionals who not only provide the free estimate but will assist with the design of your project, material selection if requested, and will provide day-to-day management of your project.
What Deposit is required to schedule my remodel?
We only require 10% down. Nothing else due until your remodel is complete! We buy all your materials (in most cases) complete the work and send you an invoice. Your invoice will be e-mailed to you and payment is due within 5 days!! Unlike other companies that require 25-50% down, another 25% when materials are delivered etc…
What kind of warranty does Two Poor Teachers provide?
Two Poor Teachers agrees to correct any defects in the completed workmanship at no expense to our customer for a period of one (1) year from the date of project completion.
